Tatcha Product Purchase Review No. 2

My 2nd Tatcha order arrived with the 3 samples as promised & also delivered in my previous order (you can see that review by clicking here).

The products I purchased were:

Luminous Dew Skin Night Concentrate - 10 ML / 0.34 OZ Travel Size
I ordered this hoping to hydrate my skin every night.  This product comes with a little gold spatula for application.  The consistency of this product is almost like a pudding.  It is very hard to balance on the tiny spatuala, but once you rub the concentrate into the skin, it melts into s smooth and creamy moisturizer.  My first impression:  I like the way this product feels in application.  No noticeable scent.  I did wake up with more hydrated skin. A tiny bit of this product goes a very long way.  The first few nights, I only used this product as night cream, but I have found I have more supple skin the next morning if I apply this product on top of The Dewy Skin Cream.

Luminous Dewy Skin Mist - 12 ML / 0.4 OZ Travel Size
This hydrating mist can be worn throughout the day to hydrate and illuminate the skin.  I like the light and refreshing scent.  It does not feel heavy or greasy.  The first few mists I loved.  But late in the day, my skin felt dry.  Still must determine if this dry feeling is because of lack of moisture or if it due from other makeup products under my foundation.

The Silk Canvas - 7G / 0.24 OZ Travel Size
A client recently raved about this primer and I have seen other women in beauty groups I am in rave about how smooth this primer makes skin look, so I went ahead and added a sample to my order.  I love the initial feel of this product, but I honestly feel after several days of wear, it may actual dry my skin out.  I am not not sure my foundation is any smoother with this product.  Like so many other products in this line, it may be great for normal skin, but I am not sure it is designed for those of us with severely dehydrated skin.

The Kissu Lip Mask - 9G / 0.32 OZ Full Size
This product comes with a little gold spatula for application.  A tiny (and I mean tiny) little bit of this jelly type product goes a very long way, so it will last a very, very long time.  It feels great.  Most lips masks I have tried are to be rinsed off, but this one is made to sleep in.  Overnight, my lips were softer and smoother than the night before. After using it a few nights, my lips are soft, but they still have a tendency to peel during the day. I don't regret the purchase, but I am not sure I will reorder when finished (by that time, a new and improved product will debut, as that is how cosmetic companies roll).

Once the initial excitement of unpacking my delivery wore off, I realized I was missing one product set I ordered.  It was on the packing list, but it was not in my box nor was it scheduled for a future delivery.

I quickly contacted customer service and I was notified that evening that the product I had ordered was being processed for delivery.  GREAT customer service interaction.

Stay turned for another review!

As always, I would love to know what you, and your skin, felt about any of these products, if you have tried them!

Tatcha Product Purchase Review No. 1

The Starter Ritual Ultra-Hydrating for Dry Skin set by Tatcha

After my first 2 applications of The Dewy Skin Cream by Tatcha, I knew I had to sample some of the brand's other products. My full review of  The Dewy Skin Cream is here.

When I visited the Tatcha website, I was offered another FREE sample of The Dewy Skin Cream when I placed my first order, IF I joined their mailing list.  (My tiny sample was only 5 ML, and I was going to get another 10 ML FREE).  I took the bait.  Another moisturizer was worth the email harassment!

I decided to order The Starter Ritual Set Ultra-Hydrating for Dry Skin.  This was not a full size product set.  I wanted trial size products, which happen to be more budget-friendly than the full retail size.

If I like a trial size, I can use it in my travel bag. If I don't like something, it's not as huge of a monetary loss.  My quest for skin hydration has become a very expensive endeavor.  Who can relate?

My order qualified for free shipping and I was pleasantly surprised when it shipped the next business day from California! (Bonus points for customer service!)

I certainly have dry skin and I certainly need ultra hydration.  I am very curious if this set will deliver?

I received a card with my packing list and 3 little samples of other Tatcha products to try.

The products I received inside my box are listed below.  And so are my first impressions (based on very first experience AND a few days of use).  I will write follow up reviews if the products actually live up to their name.

Pure One Step Camellia Cleansing Oil - 50 ML or 1.7 FL OZ

First Impression: The smell did not intrigue me with the first use. You are instructed to apply this with dry hands to a dry face.  It was supposed to turn "milky" once water was applied and the cleansing began.  I did not notice if it did or not, I was in the shower when I rinsed it off. My face still felt pretty tight after using. The information on-line says this product is for normal to dry skin, so I am not convinced this product is for my super dry skin.  (This was in the ultra hydrating box?!?!)  (This is step 1 and is to be used daily.)

The Rice Polish: Gentle - 10 G or 0.3 OZ

First Impression: Texture appears to be very similar to a charcoal powder I am in love with.  The size is actually pretty generous for a sample, but I can't see how full the little container actually is.  A little bit of this product should go a long way.  The color is the pretty periwinkle hue and when mixed with water, the user controls how moist you want it to be.  The odor is surprising.  More dull and earthy than I anticipated.  I am not completely sold on this first use, I may have to warm up to this product, but I will be trying it again.  My skin was softer and smoother after using. (This is step 2 of the skin care and is suggested daily.  I believe it could be used alone as a cleanser daily or used every other day for exfoliation.  I will have to continue my testing of this product.)

I got an email (remember I got a FREE cream for joining the mail list) about the Tatcha philosophy of dual cleansing.  Supposedly the oil removes the makeup without stripping your skin of essential natural oil and the exfoliator polishes off the skin  Will need more experimentation, but at home, because the rice polish jar is just too big for my travel bag! (I already overpack & space is premium in there!)

The Essence - 25 ML or 0.8 FL OZ

First Impression: The smell is similar to the cleansing oil.  This is a "serum" but is to be "splashed onto the face and neck and then pressed into the skin." Hmmm, ok. My skin felt dull and tight again.  It kind of tingled too.  For the quantity and the price, I am not anticipating another future investment, but will give it a few days.  (This is step 3 of the skin care and suggested daily.)

The Dewy Skin Cream - 10 ML or 0.3 OZ

First Impression: Hallelujah! I made it to the one product I fell in love with and invested my hard earned money on this travel set for!  The smell is as divine as ever (especially since my nose has been assaulted by the previous products)!  My skin welcomes the quenching moisture from the silky cream.  This skin care regimen has be revived.  I LOVE THIS PRODUCT!! (This is step 4 of the skin care and is suggested daily.)

The Silk Peony - 3 ML or 0.1 FL OZ

First Impression: This is an eye cream.  A little bit will go a long way, so this teeny tiny jar, should last a while - worth the investment.  This is a very smooth and light weight eye cream.  It is not as heavy as the one I am currently using. Very faint neutral fragrance.  (This is step 5 and is suggested daily.)  This little eye cream pot is perfect for my travel bag!

Overall, I am glad I chose to purchase travel sizes, rather than full size products. While I am not in love with everything I tried, I can use the products until they are gone.  You do get "bang for your buck" with this product line, as a tiny bit goes a long way!

Everyone on-line raves about how great these products smell, but the only one I really love the scent of is The Dewy Skin Cream.

For women with normal to dry skin, this may be a set worth investing in.  If you have extremely dry skin like me, I would suggest skipping the cleansing oil and the Essence.  If you don't have an eye cream you love, you might want to try this one.

I have ordered other products and will continue to provide feedback on those in future posts!

This is NOT a sponsored/featured post.  All of the opinions about the products above are my own.  There are no affiliate links inside this post.  Any links are for the reader to gain more information.

If you have tried any of the products above, I would love to know what you, and your skin (please be sure to tell us your skin type), felt about them!  Leave me a comment below!

Ashton Gardens West Houston Real Wedding

I would love to introduce you to one of my favorite makeup clients, Doni.  All of my clients are near and dear to my heart, but this girl lights up a room with her joy.  I have never seen her as happy as she was on this day last October!

Makeup by Keri Ann bridal Makeup
Makeup by Keri Ann's happy bridal client, Doni & her groom on their wedding day

I am usually the last vendor to be booked, but for this wedding, in October of 2019, I was actually one of the FIRST vendors booked for this wedding! I have had the opportunity to do Doni's makeup, and her family members' makeup, multiple times for several of their special events.

And while I only usually post professional photos, I am including these cute cell phone photos because, they captured the big day so well.

The ceremony space at Ashton Gardens West Houston makes you forget you are in the city.

While Doni loves makeup and color, Doni's mom does not. So we did an "au natural" look for her.

Introducing the very happy couple!!

Congratulations, Doni!
May you always dance with joy in your marriage!
Thank you so much for once again inviting me to play a special part of your wedding day memories!
(This is one of the few weddings I was also invited to attend as a guest, so honored!)
I am blessed with the best clients!

Tatcha The Dewy Skin Cream for Extremely Dry Skin and Women Over 40 Review

Dry Skin Relief for Women Over 40 or Flight Attendants or Frequent Travelers
The Dewy Skin Cream by Tatcha (5 ML jar shown) is the same color as my Plumbago flower!

I have extremely dry skin.

My flying career, Hashimoto's disease and age contribute to my dry, flaky, and (sometimes) painful skin condition.

I have been on a quest for a rich & creamy moisturizer that actually hydrates for years now.

This tiny jar of Tatcha Dewy Skin Cream was just waiting to be sampled.  It had been sitting in my bathroom cosmetic goodie-bag for a few months.  I believe this little treasure was obtained with my VIB point redemption at my local Sephora store.

As soon as my fingers touched the moisturizer in the jar, I knew I had just opened something unique, but could this little dab of creamy goodness live up to its name?  (Why had I not tried this before?)

I am very sensitive to fragrance, and while this does has a touch of scent, it is light and refreshing and was very pleasant.  I could not detect a synthetic or overly processed odor.

I applied the moisturizer after cleansing my face and applying my face serum.  I woke up the next morning with....hydrated skin!  It was actually a small miracle! Hydrated skin is something I haven't experienced in a very, very long time!

After applying the moisturizer during the day, I still loved the way it glided on my skin.  I liked the way my foundation felt and looked too.

In fact, I loved this little product so much, I have ordered more Tatcha products.  I have to find out if the other products in the brand hydrate as well as the amazing product in my tiny 5ML sample jar.

If you are a woman with severely dry skin and/or are over the age of 40, I think you might want to try a sample of this little moisturizer too!  (Oily or combo skin girls, I doubt this is a product for you).

Stay tuned to my blog, as I have ordered some travel size products I hope my skin might like too. (The wallet may not appreciate the expenditure...) Of course, you will be the first to know my results!

This is NOT a feaured/sponsored post nor are the attached links affiliate links.  These are my personal opinions and experiences.  Any supplemental information is for the consumer to do their own research.

If you have tried The Dewy Skin Cream by Tatcha, I would love to know how you, and your skin, felt about it!

Houston Memorial Area Real June Wedding

Houston Bridal Makeup _ Lawrence Elizabeth Knox Photography _ Houston Weddings _ Houston Brides _ Houston Racquet Club

This lovely bridal client of mine is about to celebrate her one year anniversary and I have to celebrate with her by sharing her lovely wedding with you.  All of the photos featured here were courtesy of Lawrence Elizabeth Knox.

The pre-wedding preparations and photos, as well as the wedding reception, took place at the Houston Racquet Club in Houston, TX.

I rarely get to stay for the wedding festivities and I am so thankful to Lawrence Elizabeth Knox for sharing the wedding day's photos with me.  I love seeing how makeup changes from indoor to outdoor lighting and I also love seeing how the makeup wore throughout the day and night.  I hope you enjoy reviewing Ellen's wedding as much I have.  Be sure to click on the links to all of her vendors.

I met Ellen through Meagan Malone, the hairstylist who did a majority of the hairstyling for this wedding too.

Flight Attendant Appreciation Day is May 31

Most people see flight attendants (aka FAs) as the hosts and food servers, but they are actually the first responders in the sky.

May 31 is Flight Attendant Appreciation Day and I know so many FAs would appreciate a little love.

Due to this "pandemic,"  many flight attendants have been working to help people get to their destinations safely. Many flights were humanitarian flights, getting university students reunited with family members or bringing expats home.

Some FAs have been grounded at home, and those who have been working have seen reduced hours because of fewer flights.  They also have to deal with stressed travelers who are not used to the very limited, or non-existent, services provided on flights.  Many FAs have been worried about their health, and the health of their loved ones while flying.

If you want to brighten a FAs day when you travel on the 31st, here are a few ideas:
  • Individually wrapped chocolates are usually appreciated
  • A cute tin of mints is nice
  • A small bottle of hand sanitizer will put an instant smile on a FA's face these days
  • A few dollars on a gift card to Starbucks is always a treat
If you want to show a FA you know well some love, here are some good ideas:
  • A Fly Girl Box - a gift box for girls who travel!
  • Ruby Slippers - because I think every girl needs a pair!
  • Custom luggage tags - Etsy has so many to choose from!
And to all my fellow flight attendants, "THANK YOU!"

Of course flight attendant love to be pampered and I could treat a special flight attendant in your life to a makeup refresh appointment!

Olde Dobbin Station Real Wedding

Natural Wedding Makeup _Makeup by Keri Ann_Olde Dobbin Station_Mr and Mrs Archer Photography

The first #WeddingWednesday post of 2020 deserves a blog post of its own!

This gorgeous wedding took place at Olde Dobbin Station in Montgomery, TX in June of 2019, but I am just now getting around to combining the photos into a blog feature.

ALL of the photos of this beautiful wedding featured here were captured by Mr and Mrs. Archer Photography and I am using these photos with their permission to share with you.  I really did try to condense my favorites, but I wanted to feature the lovely venue and details from this fun wedding.

These behind the scenes photos were captured in the elegant bridal suite at Olde Dobbin Station.

However, to get such a large group of gorgeous gals' hair and makeup done in time, we had to begin beauty preparations hours before the bridal party went to the venue.  The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel had an amazing Presidential Suite and it gave everyone ample room to congregate, work, eat, organize and socialize while making memories.
